Foundation

Tim Lee began writing stage plays in 1996 while attending Valdosta State University. His interest in History and Creative Writing allowed him to create a world of possibilities for students looking for a platform to express themselves artistically. By the time Tim Lee earned his Bachelors of Science Degree with minors in Philosophy and African American Studies, he would have written and directed over 20 plays and bolstered wide appreciation for performing arts.

​
Tim Lee returned to his hometown of Macon, Georgia and opened his own black box theatre, Real Drama Theatre, in 2009. Here is where he hosted poetry nights and produced numerous original plays. His mission was to uplift actors who wanted to sharpen their craft, and give new experiences for those looking to enjoy something fresh to theatre.

Vision
​
While on holiday in Greece, a vision was presented to Tim Lee to elevate his writing by creating a new world of possibilities for all men. A world that would set a course for a new way to see humanity without the confines of dealing with man-made social constructs that stops progression of society. He created a world where slavery ended before it became the fabric of how America was built. This fictious new world would be named New Amsterdam, a free city in the Americas, and the voice that would convey the stories would be Winsphere Jones.

Evolution
​
In 2010 Real Drama audiences were introduced to Winsphere Jones’ new perspective of writing through A Window In My Mind. Riddled with poetry, this play set the tone for a new era of Neo-Classical Theatre. Jones continued to elevate his craft to a more classical tone gaining inspiration from writers such as William Faulkner, Shakespeare, Mary Shelly and James Baldwin.

Progress
​
From 2010 to 2012, Jones was a resident artist for the historical Douglas Theatre in Macon, Georgia, gaining notoriety and making alliances throughout the local theatre circles with 5 original plays. He also released his first book of poetry, A Window in my Mind.

Accolades
​
In 2012 Jones won the Distinguished Alumnus award from the African Studies Program at Valdosta State University. In 2013, he won the award for Best Overall Production at the Atlanta Black Theatre Festival for the play, Thy Kingdom Come and in 2015, he joined the Atlanta Black Theatre Festival again and won Best Director for the play, The Red Spider. In 2023 he won the President's award for community work in theatre presented by The 100 Black Men of Savannah.

Author

In 2016 Jones published his first murder mystery novel, Legends of the Black Crow, his first collection of original monologues, Tongues That Move to Ears That Eat, and a short novel, The Ribbon in the Sky.
Creative
​
Not only is Winsphere Jones a skilled actor with over 30 years’ experience, he is a visual artist and concept consultant. In 2020 he re-visited his childhood skill of drawing and painting and created 40+ images of super hero characters on canvas using acrylic paint.

Philanthropy
Tim Lee is a member of Phi Beta Sigma, Inc. He has recently partnered with The 100 Black Men of Savannah to mentor youth through the art of theatre.

Today Winsphere Jones works to educate, cultivate and inspire by producing plays that bring awareness to all social disparities through gothic themes of love and tragedy, with exhilarating plot lines that bring a unique twist to storytelling from a new age of the African American perspective.
